The Midwestern Diner is a documentary project profiling the people of Chicago’s food and drink culture. It is comprised of six short films and thirty-three longform interviews published over the course of one year, from September 2014 to September 2015.

The project shares the insight and experiences of everyone involved in creating a meal—from chefs and restaurateurs, to farmers and bakers, to brewers and distillers. It focuses on a nuanced, direct look into the art and craft of one of the world's great food cities, presented through the voices of the people involved, with as little editorializing as possible.
